Bella Guarino

Bella Guarino is a junior at Madison High School and joined Kids to Kids (K2K) in the spring of 2020 when COVID-19 resulted in the shift of all programs to zoom. She was initially looking forward to participating in the swim program, as she is a year-round club swimmer and has a deep passion for the sport. However, she developed an instant connection with the kids in the K2K program even through a computer screen. Within K2K, Bella is a program host and recently became a board member in the summer of 2021. She is also an ambassador who helps promote the K2K organization at her school in an effort to gain new mentors and participants. Some of her favorite programs include dryland and yoga and she hopes to become an integral part of the swim program when it is reinstated.

Not only is Bella passionate about swimming and K2K, she is also very dedicated to her studies and involvement within her school. She is a high honor roll student whose favorite subject is science. Bella’s desire to care and include others is apparent through her participation in the Special Olympics club, a group that helps create bonds between all students. As an ambassador, Bella integrated K2K into the Special Olympics club and has been rewarded with the successful outcome. The club is not only a great way to include others, but provides opportunities to make friends with different types of people. Bella also participates in PGC (Peer Group Connections), a program where upperclassmen develop and carry out outreaches to make freshmen feel welcomed and comfortable in a new school environment. Bella is a member of the Red Cross club and enjoys the opportunity for community service through the Key club. Outside of K2K and school, Bella works as a lifeguard and swim instructor.
