Juliana (Jules) Scerbo

Juliana (Jules) has been volunteering with K2K and its predecessor for the past 7 years, and was the youngest member of its Founding Board. She is a senior honors student at Mountain Lakes High School.

Her love for swimming began as an infant, where she could spend hours floating in her swim tube at the town pool. A competitive swimmer since age 7, she has competed for Morris Center YMCA, Cougar Aquatic Team (Montclair), and the East Hanover Hurricanes. She now captains the three-time NJSIAA Public C State Championship Mountain Lakes High School Girls Swim Team. Juliana works as a lifeguard/swim instructor for the past three summers, and teaches swim lessons during the school year at Lakeland Hills YMCA.

In high school, she was selected by the Mountain Lakes faculty to serve as a Peer Leader, and is a certified facilitator for One Love Escalation Workshops (dating violence). She is in the Foreign Exchange Program where she hosted a student and travelled to the Netherlands and France. She actively participates in Key Club, Let’s Erase the Stigma Club (LETS), Entrepreneur’s Club, Spanish Club, Progeria Research Fashion Show, and the Freshman Orientation Committee. She is on the Executive Board of the National Honor Society and is also a member of the Spanish National Honor Society. She also played for the MLHS Field Hockey Team.

Juliana volunteers for Swim For Food, Newark Habitat for Humanity, and Best Day. She has a passion for theater and dance, and has been studying dance since she was two.

For her many hours of dedication and commitment to Kids2Kids, Juliana is thrilled to have been awarded the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
