Miranda Kannisto

Miranda Kannisto is a rising senior at Morristown High School and joined Kids to Kids in October 2020. She works heavily with the Learning and Life Skills Academy, which tutors participants in academics and social skills. She loves helping kids learn and watching them grow with their skills. She also previously mentored in the American Sign Language program. She hopes to participate in more programs as they open up in-person.

Miranda has a brother, James, who has autism, which really opened her eyes to the injustices that people with disabilities face. This has led her to be more open-minded and adaptable, shaping her into who she is today. She hopes that the work she does can help create a more welcoming environment for everyone.

At Morristown, Miranda is a high honor roll student and a member of the National and Math Honor Societies. She is on the board for the All-In Club – which is dedicated to inclusion and acceptance of students with disabilities – and works heavily with the school’s Unified swim and track teams.
